Nutrition
We are all faced with an abundance of food and nutrition information and choices. A healthy diet and lifestyle are the best weapons for fighting diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, stroke and certain types of cancer. A healthy diet can help many gastrointestinal problems.
What Should We Eat for a Healthy Lifestyle
A healthy lifestyle that includes eating the right foods and getting plenty of exercise and sleep goes a long way in keeping the body healthy. Evaluate your diet – is it balanced? Are you consuming empty calories through sugary beverages? How are your portion sizes?

Nutrition Support Team
We have a Nutrition Support Team including a specialist dietitian and a nutrition specialist nurse. Their role is to see patients with complex nutritional needs to ensure they receive sufficient nutrition. We also provide guidance to nurses and medical staff regarding the correct care and maintenance of specialist tubes used for feeding.
Diet Balancing
Follow these guidelines when it comes to balancing your diet:
Eat Healthy
Eat a diet of lean protein, such as chicken and fish, whole grains and vegetables and fruits. Fresh or frozen vegetables are preferred versus canned vegetables.
Processed foods
Eat from nature and eat the rainbow. Limit processed foods, ones found in cans or packages, and read labels to monitor portion size and unhealthy ingredients. It is important to eat brightly colored fruit and vegetables in your diet.
Drink Healthy
Drink plenty of water. Other drinks high in sugar should be kept to a minimum.
